Membership eligibility
Hampshire Healthcare Library Service (HHLS) provides a professional library and information service to all staff of the following organisations:
- Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- NHS Hampshire (including GPs and practice staff)
- NHS Southampton City (including GPs and practice staff)
- Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
- South Central Strategic Health Authority
- Solent NHS Trust
There are 4 main categories of library membership:
Core Membership - Staff employed by any of the above organisations are entitled to access the full range of services offered by HHLS.
Partner - Employees of other NHS organisations in South Central or organisations working in partnership with the NHS may apply for partner membership. This category entitles members to reference access, use of library facilities and book loans free of charge. Other services are available at an additional charge.
Student - Students on placement and pre-registration students based on our sites can use the HHLS libraries to study and to borrow books free of charge. Students will be referred to their University library for other services.
External - Members of the general public and those working within health-related private sector organizations are welcome to use the HHLS libraries on a reference basis (this excludes access to electronic resources except the library catalogue). An annual subscription of £50 is available for those who wish to borrow books. Other library services are available at an additional cost.
